Game Republic New Horizons

Chris Taylor, Eaton Smith

Chris Taylor is a Partner with Eaton Smith LLP, a law firm in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire that, amongst other things, has a specialism in video games legal issues. Whilst Chris focuses on commercial contracts and intellectual property aspects of video games, Eaton Smith LLP itself helps games businesses with the variety of legal issues that any business will encounter from time to time.

Chris’s passion for video games spans decades and he still has his NES and SNES and many games from the time. Through being involved in legal activities within the games industry, he has developed a track record of helping development studios and publishers grow and succeed. Over the years, Chris has worked with developers and publishers of all sizes as well as musicians and artists, bringing exciting projects to life and into the hands of the players.

He loves connecting creative talent with opportunities and this is why he is looking forward to being part of Game Republic’s New Horizons Advisory Board.

Chris is a big believer in collaboration and innovation, qualities that lie at the heart of not only Game Republic but of the wider membership as well.

As part of the Advisory Board for Game Republic’s New Horizons 2026, Chris is very much looking forward to sharing insights, working with all involved and supporting an event that inspires and energises the games community and which builds on the success of the 2025 New Horizons event.
